I have a bunch of Console Management Switches that do not support SNMP. Basically all you do is telnet to them. They are then connected via DB-9 cable into the console ports of all the network devices. I have tried creating my own adapter, but I alway get errors because the device does not support SNMP. I could just use the Cisco IOS adapter but then Ziptie would classify it as a Cisco IOS device in the reports. Any ideas?
When you try creating an
When you try creating an adapter with adapterTool, by default it will try to use SNMP to automatically populate several model elements for the device. If SNMP isn't available, you can just open up the main .PM for the adapter you're creating and comment out any lines that contain 'snmpSession'. There will only be 3 or 4 of them if I remember correctly. Once you do that you should be able to proceed with writing your adapter to use Telnet only.

Is there any way to get around the eoors about the ZipTie element document being incomplete?
I got rid of most of them but I cannot find where to make it happy about this:
